How Does ARTalk work?

The Workshops :
  • Are rooted in Indigenous wisdom and values, and run in partnership with
  • Indigenous community members and practitioners.
  • Offer participants a focus on personal wellness, stress reduction and mental health through group connection and dialogue.
  • Incorporate trauma-informed practice by design.
  • Assist participants to develop their own practice to share in their community in new sessions or as part of existing services. (train-the-trainer)
  • Use commonly found objects, traditional arts, and techniques adapted from art therapy to spark creativity, connection and healing dialogue for participants.

Participants do NOT require art experience:
The healing process uses metaphors, textures, colours, and symbolism from the use of materials.
